A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng has denied writing any newspaper article criticizing the NPP’s petition to the Supreme Court challenging the 2012 election results, which saw President Mahama declared president.

Media reports suggest that the former CEO of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has raised doubt about the NPP’s court challenge saying it will amount to nothing.

But in an interview with Citi News, Professor Frimpong Boateng said he fully backs the court action taken by the party.

“I must tell you that I have not written anything, I have also not had any discussions or interview with any person that will prompt him or her to write that kind of thing in the newspapers; its certainly not from me.”

“If I have any problem with my party or with any person, my style is that I go there personally and we have discussions. You may not like it but I don't do that, go behind and write things and so on.”

“Certainly this article is not from me,” he reiterated.
