President John Dramani Mahama has expressed his condolence to the bereaved family of his Excellency the former Vice President Aliu Mahama whose demise occurred on Friday.
Alhaji Mahama, Vice President to former President John Agyekum Kuffuor passed on at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital at 09:45 AM at the age of 66.
The news was confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Otu Nartey in a press statement.
“Unfortunately the worst has occurred and I wish to express my condolences to the NPP, President Kufuor and the leader of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the chairman and the whole family. The nation stands with them…” he said.
According to our sources, President Mahama has postponed his campaign and is set to return to Accra today.
