Former President John Agyekum Kufuor says Ghana’s economy is deteriorating at a fast rate.

He said, “Our country’s economy needs very good professional managers who can thoroughly access and verify what really is the problem of the economy so that they can properly solve it.”

The ex-President disclosed this while was addressing hundreds of Muslim Imams in the Ashanti region at the Central Mosque in Kumasi.

The event was graced by New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia and his wife, Samira Bawumia.

Former President Kufuor stated that Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, who is experienced in governance and Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, a renowned economist, constitute the best partnership to save Ghana’s fast sinking economy.

He noted that the next NPP administration, led by Nana Akufo Addo, would include experts in governance who would address the hopeless situation pertaining in the country.

The former Ghana leader attributed hardship in the country to the Mahama led NDC administration calling on the electorate to vote out the NDC.

Ex-President Kufuor noted that his eight-year tenure was far better than the 24-year tenure of the P/NDC administrations, insisting the NDC deserved to be in opposition.

He said Ghana needed a servant-leader like Nana Akufo Addo who would not lord over the people but offer effective leadership which would help the people to overcome their difficulties.

Ex-President Kufuor lambasted the NDC for falsely claiming ownership of projects which the NPP constructed in an effort to win the elections at all cost.

He said if members of the NDC had performed creditably and fulfilled their promises during the last four years, they would not have falsely claimed projects undertaken by the NPP.

He cautioned Ghanaian youth not to accept the bribes being offered by the NDC in exchange for votes. “Vote for a credible leader who can lead the country to affluence,” he admonished Ghanaians. Former President Kufuor advised the electorate to avoid politicians that were peddling falsehoods to win political power.
