Mr Elvis Afriyie-Ankrah, National Campaign Coordinator for NDC, has called on sympathizers of the National Democratic Congress to vote massively for the retention of President Dramani Mahama in the coming election to enable him to continue with the Better Ghana Agenda.

“It is important to work together regardless of your backgrounds so that united by a common resolve we can achieve a convincing victory for the President,” he said.

Mr Afriyie-Ankrah, who is also the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, said this during the launch of the Volunteers for Mahama (VFM) in Accra on Tuesday. “We are hoping to foster this idea of volunteerism across Ghana in order to get as many people from diverse backgrounds to work and ensure a ‘One Touch’ victory for John Mahama,” he said.

The theme for the occasion was: “Ensuring John Mahatma’s one Touch Victory through Volunteerism- Let’s Do It”. He said the VFM which has over 4,000 members nationwide, would support the campaign of President Mahama by distributing flyers on the achievement of the party and helping in organizing door-to-door campaigns.

Mr Mawutor Agbavitor, National Volunteer Coordinator for NDC, said the VFM was created by the coming together of some professionals including doctors, engineers, lawyers and students with a goal mobilizing volunteers to work for John Dramani Mahama to ensure victory in the coming elections.
