The US branch of Youth for Mahama (YFM) has been launched at a special Peace March session in New York with a call on Ghanaians living in that country to rally behind President John Mahama ahead of the December general elections.

The group says that successes chalked by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under late President John Evans Atta Mills and his vision of a better Ghana could only be complete when Ghanaians renewed the mandate for the NDC under President Mahama.

An official statement in Accra quoted the spokesperson for the group, Alhaji Abass Adam Adamu, as saying they were happy at the support and show of love Ghanaians demonstrated during the demise of President Mills on July 24.

He said that the magnitude of support emphasised the confidence of Ghanaians in the policies and programmes of the NDC government for which they were confident would ensure a “one touch” victory for President Mahama and the NDC.

He congratulated Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur on his assumption to the office and subsequent endorsement as running mate of President Mahama and urged him to do all he could to provide the needed support for victory for the NDC in December.

He urged the rank and file of the party to resolve all outstanding difference and work as a united front in order to ensure that the party came out of the elections more united than ever.
