The Presbyterian Church of Ghana, says it has accepted the apology of President John Dramani Mahama and that the Church had nothing against the National Democratic Congress (NDC) or the government.

President Mahama on Friday apologized to the Church and its Moderator when he addressed the chiefs and people of Akuapem to climax the annual Odwira Festival.

The apology of the President became necessary due to the misunderstanding between the NDC and the Church recently over a comment the Moderator made in respect to the creation of additional 45 constituencies.

Speaking to the media at Akropong after the festival, the Akuapem Presbytery Clerk, The Reverend Raymond Baah Abeka, said the Presbyterian Church had nothing against the NDC and the government, and that the two institutions would continue to work in harmony to develop the country.

He said the Church would continue to offer constructive criticisms for the betterment of the country and therefore appealed to the various political parties to consider the church as a partner for development.

Rev Abeka called on Ghanaians to maintain the prevailing peace in the country before, during, and after the general election, adding that Ghanaians could not afford to lose the prevailing peace.
