The flagbearer of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Kofi Wayo, says his party will cause a major upset in the December polls due to the numerous development projects it is undertaking across the country.
Updating XYZ News on his campaign ahead of the elections, Mr Wayo said Ghanaians are buying into the URP’s vision and practical solution of providing basic social amenities for the citizenry.
He said the URP will capitalize on its strength among grassroots.“What do you think I am doing now? You think I am playing scrabble? I am campaigning actively. I am in the villages; we are all over in the villages,” Mr. Wayo said.
He said his party has done a lot around the country even in opposition and that it deserves the endorsement of Ghanaians.Mr. Wayo further indicated that he has relegated the selection of a running mate to the background in favour of pressing campaign issues.
He said “what good is thinking about a running-mate when you die before you get it,” he said, adding “the African mentality is ‘monkey see monkey do’. I got my own mind, I got my own rhythm because I am intelligent enough to have my own rhythm.”
According to Mr. Wayo, when the party is ready to select a running-mate, it will make it known to the general public.
