A group within the People’s National Conventions (PNC), Caucus For Strategic Progress, is accusing the flagbearer of the party of associating himself with the ruling NDC.

The group alleges that Hassan Ayarigah’s presence at the recently held NDC Congress in Kumasi and other NDC events only goes to endorse the candidature of the ruling party. National Coordinator of the group, Atik Mohammed told XYZ News that they have petitioned the National Executive Committee of the PNC to investigate the matter.

According to Atik Mohammed, when Mr Ayarigah went to welcome the late President Mills from the airport, “it created confusion on the minds of [their] people in the constituencies.”

He said by what Mr Ayariga has said in the past, it is clear that he prefers to see the NDC stronger and in power than his own party, a situation that is inimical to the fortunes of the PNC. “His attitude about campaigning too, all other candidates are moving from one constituency to the other doing serious campaigns and he is not doing anything. He is just sitting at one place,” he alleged.

But General Secretary of the PNC, Bernard Monnah says he is not aware of any such petition. He however said the party will still go ahead to investigate the allegations which he describes as damning.
