Leader and founder of the United Renaissance Party (URP), Charles Kofi Wayo has rubbished the Institute of Economic Affairs’ (IEA) encounter with the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akuffo Addo describing it as lies.
The IEA as part of ensuring accountability in government, organized an encounter with the Presidential candidate of the NPP to explain to Ghanaians his policies and visions for the country if voted as president of Ghana.
Speaking on Gold Power Drive on Wednesday, Mr. Kofi Wayo noted that “Nana Akuffo Addo can never make education free. He is lying to Ghanaians because they say Ghanaians have poor memory. He should have said a tax-funded education instead of free education because the money is not from his pocket”.
He maintained that “the NPP does not have respect for Ghanaians. As Member of Parliament for 12 years, what did Nana Addo do for Kyebi? I was shocked when I went to the Abuakwa State College at Kyebi. Students wake up at dawn to look for water. It is alleged a student in search of water died in a galamsey pit”.
According to Mr. Kofi Wayo the NPP have nothing to offer Ghanaians as they were interested in increasing fuel prices and selling state property when they were in power regardless of feelings of the people.
