Following numerous requests to donate towards the funeral and burial service of our late President, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, companies interested in doing so have been advised to contact the State Protocols Department.

The advice was given by Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Ken Kanda, when he received a donation of 360 cases of assorted Coca Cola products from Coca Cola Company and its bottling partner, the Coca Cola Company of Ghana on behalf of the Funeral Planning Committee at the State House in Accra on Friday.

Ambassador Kanda, who expressed shock at the sudden death of Professor Atta Mills, pointed out that the late President lived a full life and left many legacies for the country. He also thanked Coca Cola Company for its generous donation.

For his part, the Public Affairs and Communications Director of the company, Mr Philippe Ayivor, paid glowing tribute to Prof Atta Mills. He said in their interactions with then President Atta Mills, they found him to be honest, caring, trust-worthy and passionately committed to the national cause. On behalf of the company, he also expressed condolences to the family as well as the government and people of Ghana.

Earlier, the Seventh Day Adventist Church had donated one hundred boxes of water to the Funeral Planning Committee.
