Unconfirmed reports reaching peacefmonline.com say, barring any unforeseen hiccups, President John Dramani Mahama, who was sworn into office last night as the 4th President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana after the untimely death of then President JEA Mills, will name his Vice President shortly.

President Mahama, who is currently chairing a cabinet meeting involving ministers of state as well as senior party officials in his first day in office as president, led members of his team into prayer as was the tradition of the late president John Mills.

Though several names of bigwigs in the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) including Chairman of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Mr. P.V. Obeng; Minister of Local Govt & Rural Development, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo; Trade Minister Hanna Tetteh, Agric Minister Kwasi Ahwoi and Finance Minister Kwabena Duffuor, are being bandied around as possible candidates, snippets of information gathered by picked peacefmonline.com indicate, former Finance Minister Kwasi Botchway will be appointed the vice president.
