The under representation of women in the decision-making process has been called to question as the December polls approach.

Currently, women's representation in Parliament is less than 10 percent.

The Presiding member of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has asked political parties to field women candidates in their strong holds and support them to win.

The gender activist requests the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to support the appointment of women as District Chief Executives and Presiding Members of the new assemblies.

Madam Agnes Lartey was speaking in Accra on the challenges and prospects of women candidates, lessons for elections 2012.
