The yet to be launched National Democratic Party (NDP) says it is will consider the request extended to it by some youth groups of the NDC to return to the ruling Party.
The Volta Youth for Action has called on members of the NDP who are mainly from the NDC, to rescind their decision to form a new political party.
According to the group, the move could adversely affect the electoral fortunes of the ruling NDC.
But Speaking to XYZ News, a member of the NDP, Dr. Offei Agyemang said the NPD has nothing against the NDC as a party, and as such it is ready to engage with leadership of the ruling party on the matter.
"We have nothing against the NDC. Why we want to form a new vehicle has to do with the leadership of the party and I believe that we will humbly consider their request.
"It’s an appeal that they have put before the members of the new party which is yet to be given the mandate, so of course we can consider that" Dr. Ofei Agyemang said.
