Mr Isaac Livingstone Asamoah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) New Juaben North Parliamentary aspirant, has denied allegations that he stole a television set meant for the National Youth Employment office of the Akuapem North District.

Mr Livingstone, who was the District Coordinator of the scheme between September 2009 and 2010, said he never stole the television set.

He said he rather kept it in his house upon a directive from the Castle, Osu, the seat of Government. According to him, the directive was to prevent workers from watching television during working hours at the expense of productivity.

Mr Livingstone said his former office was also too small to contain the television set and hence the decision to keep the item in the house. He said he returned the item when he finally resigned as the Coordinator of the scheme.

When the Ghana News Agency (GNA) contacted Mr Isaac Batsa, Acting Coordinator of the National Youth Employment Programme, he confirmed that the television set was in the programme’s office and that Mr Livingstone returned it immediately he resigned from the organization.

It was alleged that Mr Livingstone, during his term as the District Coordinator of the scheme, stole a television set meant for the office and sent it to his house
