Former President John Kufuor has stated that for sure, his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is coming back to power in 2012. Speaking on Hot FM on yesterday, Mr. Kufuor said that Ghanaians have had the opportunity to taste life under both the NDC and the NPP and they would make the appropriate choices in 2012.

“I am telling you that the most important thing in a party is that you serve for people to vote you to power. I believe that the biggest party in the country is NPP. I am a democrat and I believe the people have said that they have carried wine and water and they know which one is better.

The electorates are looking at what the NDC government is doing so when we get to the elections and the electorates see that the NDC performed below their expectations then the NPP will win. I know for sure that NPP will win the 2012 elections,” he said.

He said that many keep wondering why for some people political power and affiliation is used to cause destruction instead of building upon the foundations laid by predecessors.

“The foundations that have been laid down the social sectors of the economy, namely, NYEP, NHIS, LEAP, Free Maternal Care, Cocoa Farmers Pension, Affordable Housing etc ought to be maintained and improved instead of resorting to the usual petty-minded politics that often characterizes the approach of the NDC,” he said.
