A detailed schedule of certified treasury payments as well as a schedule of certified internal payments from 2006 till 2008, have revealed some very shocking expenditure charged on the defunct Ghana@50 secretariat by Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, ex-CEO of the Secretariat.

According to a voluminous item-by-item expenditure in the possession of The Enquirer newspaper, on August 30, 2006, Dr. Wereko-Brobby requested and obtained a refund for expenditure incurred for trimming his moustache. As per pay voucher number 001/03, he got a refund of GH¢6.81 being “refund from John’s Salon Moustache.”

When Dr. Wereko-Brobby emerged from his hideout to be installed as Chief Executive of the Ghana@50 Secretariat without any traceable appointment letter by the National Planning Committee, headed by his by his brother-in-law, he spotted a very busy moustache.

As we know now, Dr. Wereko-Brobby went underground to quietly work as Adviser on Budget for the late Finance Minister, Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, after he was removed from Volta River Authority (VRA), where he bought the controversial Strategic Reserve Plant (SRP), which became a liability and was accused by workers for blowing money on his office bathrooms instead of seeing to their welfare.

The Enquirer has also laid hands on the even more shocking revelations of how Dr. Wereko-Brobby spent the ¢2 billion claimed to have loaned the Ghana@50 Secretariat without credible documentation.

Oh Ye foolish comentaary contributors LISTEN to what this author and HARLACHECK has to say. If tax payers are being billed for this nonsense expenditure, then THAT is NEWS. How hard is it to forgo SIX GHANA CEDIS if he cares about the welfare of the country and it's people? Leeches, Fleas and suckers. Wereko has done well for Ghana, but if these little expenditures has been billed to Ghana, then what other bills unknown or of greater importance than a 'MOuse-tache' will be bloated for personal gain?

If normally he does not trim his moustache but for the sake of his office he has to do that, then it must be refunded. More over this is very trivial. This is how Ghana is. People who toil to do good are often haplessly mistreated by people who do not have the nation at heart. Compare Rawlings to General I.K.Acheampong and the difference will be clear.

Those of you who don`t see the importance of this story needs to have your heads checked. How could a man trimmed his moustache and give the bill to taxpayers to pay? You are the very idiots who go blaming the goverment for not doing enough and here you are refusing to see the relevance of a story telling you of a man wasting our money. What kind of human beings are you?Go and see a medical doctor.

The man is a disgrace to mother Ghana. If he could ask and obtain a refund for trimming his moustache at the expense of the state, then God save us all. No doubt the man could blow ¢51b on tea cups. Thieves. Jail him and Mugu Yaro.
