A youth wing in the CPP, known as “Osagyefo Youth Movement”, is calling for an early congress to restructure the party towards the 2012 general elections.
The National youth organizer, Mr. Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, who is part of the group, confirmed this to peacefmonline in an interview.
According to him, their call for an early congress is part of moves aiming at re-structuring and re-shaping the party for the better.
“There are several things in the party which needs to be changed or else we cannot stand firm to compete with rivals in 2012,” he said.
Mr. Bomfeh, however, failed to disclose the proposed date for the early congress, saying “we are yet to schedule that with some leading national executives of the party.”
