Mr Ambrose Dery, Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament, has approved a budget of GH¢9,640 from his MP (Member of Parliament) Common Fund to support 64 students in the Lawra-Nandom Constituency.

Warrant Officer (WO) Adams Ankyere (retired), the Administrator at the Office of the Member of Parliament, who said this at a press briefing to highlight the performance of the MP, added that Mr Dery had also released GH¢1,030 to the District Education office to help reverse the dwindling standards of education in the area.

He said Mr Dery, who is also the MP for Lawra-Nandom, had spent GH¢12,500 to acquire a new Radio mast for Radio FREED, a community radio station in Nandom to use its medium to explain and educate people about government policies in local dialects.

W.O Ankyere said numerous women groups engaged in income generating activities had also been offered loans for their various projects totaling GH¢12,500.

He said the MP had also repaired all broken down bore-holes in order to provide potable water for the people and appealed to the beneficiary communities to take good care of the facilities.

W.O Ankyere commended the Deputy Minority Leader for his selflessness and determination to develop his constituency adding "You will not believe that sometimes the MP uses his personal pocket money to support public and private projects in the area."

He called on the people to continue to vote for Mr Dery in future elections since he was committed to the plight and development of his people.

He said Mr Dery's true intension was to serve his people, which have been evidenced in the numerous development projects he had carried out in the constituency.
