Mr Samuel Evans Ashong-Narh, Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema East Constituency, on Wednesday presented a DELL Computer worth 1,700 Ghana Cedis to the Tema Manhean District Police Command.

He said the computer was presented as part of his social responsibility to the constituency.

Mr Ashon-Narh said due to the influx of criminals into the Harbour City of Tema, there was the need for the Police to be provided with the necessary logistics to enable them to clamp down on their activities.

He called on the Tema Regional Police Command to provide Police Posts to places like Bankuman and Abonkor.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Augustine Gyening, Tema Regional Police Commander, urged the public to support the Police with information on criminal activities in their communities.

He regretted that, the major challenge facing the police in the region was the lack of accommodation.

He therefore appealed to the Government and the Tema Traditional Council to provide proper accommodation for Police personnel in order to discharge their duties with sound mind.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ali Seidu, Tema Manhean District Commander, commended the MP for his kind gesture.

He said the computer would make their work easier and effective as it would replace the old manual system of administration in the district.

I would like to ask the Honorable MP, how exactly is that Personal Computer that he donated to one police station going to help fight against crime? or is it a just one of the way to gain cheap publicity.
