Some supervisors at some exhibition centres in the Sunyani Municipality on Monday expressed worry about the low patronage of the voter exhibition exercise.

They cited the introduction of SMS (SIM Message Sending) Texting and inadequate publicity by the Electoral Commission (EC) as the main causes.

This came to light when the Ghana News Agency (GNA) interviewed them on Monday, last day of the exercise at separate centres.

At New Town Urban Council (UC) Boys Exhibition Centre, a voter, Vera Agyeiwaa Agyemang had her name missing from the voters register whilst five other voters had also had their names, ages and sex changed.

The five were, however, given replacement and correction forms to fill to rectify the error.

At the Anglican Junior High School (JHS) centre, 204 out of 358 voters had checked their names.

Mr. Baah Tawiah exhibition supervisor at Methodist Primary B quoted 1,099 as voters who had checked their names as at 1215 hours from a total of 2,437 in the register.

Mr. Tawiah said the SMS platform to check voting details was not the best as some people had claimed and noted that some voters who were told that their identifications did not exist via SMS were proved otherwise when they came to the exhibition centre.

At Fiapre Roman Catholic Primary School, 700 out of 1,210 voters had checked their names according to the exhibition supervisor, Ms. Erica Agyei Sakyiwaa as at 0900 hours.

At the Roman Catholic JHS Centre, also at Fiapre, 290 out of 377 voters had come to check their names without any associated problem as at 0930 hours.
